Jake Fox

Jake was born July 20, 1982 in Greenfield, IN, son of Terry and Polly Fox. Jake attended Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, IN and was runner-up in 2000 Indiana Mr. Baseball. Jake attended the University of Michigan and played baseball from 2000-2003.He was named to Baseball America’s 2003 All America third team. The Chicago Cubs drafted Jake in the 3rd round of the 2003 draft. Through the minor leagues Jake was an All Star with the Lansing Lugnuts (low A), Daytona Cubs (high A) and Tennessee Smokies (AA).

Jake made his major league debut with the Chicago Cubs on July 19, 2007. The 2009 season was Jake’s first extended stay in the majors after beginning the season in AAA Iowa and being named PCL Player of the week in April and May. Jake hit his first homerun on June 25, 2009 and first grand slam followed on August 29. Jake was traded in the 2009 off season and has spent the 2010 season between the Oakland A’s and Baltimore Orioles.

Jake graduated from the University of Michigan in 2007, majoring in communication. During the off season Jake enjoys being at home with family and friends, playing with yellow lab Gus and watching Michigan football.
